Portfolio is designed to provide
stable renewable energy supply

Optimum combination of Biomass, Hydro and Geothermal
on top of variable sources of Solar and Wind to meet fluctuating demand.

Biomass Power Generation

Generate electricity from untapped biological resources

Biomass power is stable source of energy generated from woodchip, forest thinning, waste oil and methane fermentation gas. Underused resources are contributing to build a recycle-base society.

  • Sewage sludge,
    livestock excreta

    methane
    fermentation gas

  • Forest thinning,
    timber

    wood biomass

  • Waste building material
    and other wood material

    material waste

  • PKS, rice husk,
    rice straw

    general wood,
    biomass,
    agricultural waste

  • Pruning, wood debris,
    paper, food waste

    general waste,
    other biomass

Geothermal Power Generation

Utilizing geothermal resources of the volcanic archipelago

Japan holds the world 3rd largest geothermal resource (23M kW). Geothermal power is generated from steam and heat of hotspring that lies deep in the earth. SB Energy is developing geothermal power to be the next generation base supply of energy.

Hydroelectric Power Generation

Flow and fall of water are converted to energy

Utilizing the abundant water resource in our country, hydroelectric power generation provides efficient and stable supply of electricity from natural flow of rivers and waterfalls.

Overseas Business

Domestically nurtured technology is applied to expand renewable energy in the global scale

SB Energy aims to expand the use of renewable energy on a global scale. As a first step, we have embarked on the development of renewable energy in Mongolia. We evaluate the feasibility of renewable development mainly on wind power generation in the South Gobi Desert. We promote the construction of the world's largest wind power plant and strive to be the key driver to accelerate the renewable projects around the world.

Renewable energy
development in Asia

The first proposed site is in a midway between Tavan Tolgoi, one of the world’s largest coal mine, and Oyu Tolgoi, one of the world’s largest gold and copper mine. The 50MW Tsetsii Wind Farm was constructed and came into operation in October 6th, 2017.
