SB Energy is also aiming to spread and increase renewable energy use on a global scale, not just in Japan.
At the Overseas Business Division the goal is to maximize the application of renewable energy sources around the world. As a first step we have embarked on the development of renewable energy in Mongolia.
On secure land in the South Gobi Desert evaluating the business of developing renewable energy centering on wind power businesses are being promoted to construct the world's largest scale wind power plant.
So that the Overseas Business Division assist the world's renewable energy project to accelerate we are taking the initiative in renewable energy development.

Promoting development of renewable energy in Asia by establishing “Clean Energy Asia” renewable energy power development business in Mongolia.

SB Energy has established a joint venture company, Clean Energy Asia together with Newcom Mongolia to promote the development of renewable energy in Asia.
Clean Energy Asia has secured approximately 220,000 hectares of land in the South Gobi Desert.
Aiming to add 7 GW of renewable energy capacity, the viability of the business is off to a good start as we continue to work towards commercialization.
In September 2016, Clean Energy Asia signed financing agreements to construct a 50 MW wind power plant in Tsogttsetsii District.
We aim to start operation of the wind farm in December 2017 making Clean Energy Asia an operating power producer in Mongolia.

The first proposed development site is a point midway between Tavan Tolgoi, one of the world’s largest coal mine, and Oyu Tolgoi, one of the world’s largest gold and copper mine, with intent to supply clean energy for the development of these mines vital for Mongolia’s economic development.
